Every Dog Behavior and Training Privacy Policy

 

Protecting your private information is our priority. This Statement of Privacy applies to www.everydogaustin.org and Every Dog Behavior and Training and governs data collection and usage. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to Every Dog Behavior and Training include www.everydogaustin.org and EDBT. The EDBT website is a nonprofit dog behavior and training services site based in Austin, Texas. By using the EDBT website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement. 

  

1. Collection of your Personal Information 

In order to better provide you with products and services offered on our Site, EDBT may collect personally identifiable information, such as your: 

  

  • Identifiers: Information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with, a particular individual such as name, signature, mailing address, email address, telephone number, and driver's license number.

  • Financial Information: Account numbers, credit or debit card numbers. If you purchase EDBT's products and services, we collect billing and credit card information. This information is used to complete the purchase transaction. 

  • Commercial information: Purchase and transaction history.

  • Internet or other electronic network activity information: Mobile device and online identifiers, Mac address, IP address, cookie IDs, browser activity, search history, social media information, and information regarding your interaction with our website or mobile application. EDBT may keep track of the websites and pages our users visit within EDBT, in order to determine what EDBT services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within EDBT to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area. 

  • Precise geolocation data. This allows us to better understand where people are located when they review our website.

  • Demographic Information. Age, gender, race, citizenship, ethnicity, date of birth, family or marital status, household income, education, professional and employment information. EDBT may also collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you.

  • Profile information. Any form of automated process performed on personal data to evaluate, analyze, or predict personal aspects related to an identified or identifiable individual's economic situation, health, personal preferences, interests, reliability, behavior, location or movements.

  • Sensitive Data. [Data revealing racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, mental or physical health condition or diagnosis, sex life, sexual orientation or citizenship or immigration status; the processing of genetic or biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying an individual; personal data collected from a known child; or precise geolocation data. We will not process your sensitive data without obtaining your consent.

  

We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use certain products or services available on the Site. These may include: (a) registering for an account on our Site; (b) entering a sweepstakes or contest sponsored by us or one of our partners; (c) signing up for special offers from selected third parties; (d) sending us an email message; (e) submitting your credit card or other payment information when ordering and purchasing products and services on our Site. To wit, we will use your information for, but not limited to, communicating with you in relation to services and/or products you have requested from us. EDBT does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties.

This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the EDBT website.

7. Your Rights Under the TDPSA and How to Exercise Them.

 

Residents of Texas have certain rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) which may be exercised free of charge up to two times per year, provided that in cases where the requests are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive, we may charge a reasonable fee to cover the administrative costs of complying with the request or decline to comply with the request.

 

You have the right to:

  1. Confirm whether or not we are processing your personal data and access that data.

  2. Correct inaccuracies in your personal data.

  3. Delete personal data provided by or obtained about you.

  4. Obtain a digital copy of your personal data in a readily usable format, if available.

  5. Opt out of the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising.

  6. Opt out of the sale of your personal data.

  7. Opt out of profiling performed in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

 

We are required to respond without undue delay but within 45 days of receipt of your request. Depending on factors such as the type and complexity of the request, we may extend the time for response once for an additional 45 days, as long as we notify you within the original 45 days.

 

If we decline to take action regarding your request, we must notify you without undue delay, but within 45 days of the receipt of the notice and provide information on our appeal process. We are required to provide justification and provide information on the appeal process within a reasonable time after the communication of the decision to decline.

Any personal data we collect from you to verify your identity in connection with you request will be used solely for the purposes of verification.

 

You may also designate another person to serve as your agent to opt out of processing on your behalf.

 

8. Children Under Thirteen 

 

EDBT does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website. 

  

9. E-mail Communications 

 

From time to time, EDBT may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication. In order to improve our Services, we may receive a notification when you open an email from EDBT or click on a link therein.
