"High Value Treats"

Updated: Aug 16, 2022

Treat value matters a LOT when training dogs. You may be able to use dry treats or even kibble when asking for easy, known behaviors at home. But when you go out into the world and have to compete with smells, sounds, and squirrels, those treats usually aren’t going to cut it!

You get what you pay for when it comes to behavior, so make sure you’re using the right treats for the right activities.

Remember, the value of your treats is up to the DOG! Some pups think cheese is #1 and others love ice cubes or tortilla chips or teriyaki chicken. Sometimes the most expensive treats aren’t the most valuable to your dog!!!

We often try things like deli meat, cheese, chicken, baby food, etc.

You can also check out some of our favorite treat options on Amazon.

Still having trouble getting your dog to listen, particularly when there are lots of distractions? Book a session!
